Supreme Court upholds Fayose's election, dismisses APC's petition

The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state and dismissed the petition against him. At a ruling this morning April 13th, a 7- man panel led by Justice John Fabiyi dismissed all the grounds of appeal filed by the petitioner, APC members in the state House of Assembly, who argued that Governor Fayose was not eligible to contest following his impeachment from office during his first administration.

Delivering judgement, the court held that while impeachment was not a ground of disqualification from contesting as governor, the panel which recommended Fayose for impeachment on October 16, 2006, was illegally and unconstitutionally
constituted.

The court also ruled that allegations of certificate forgery is not substantive as the HND certificate Fayose presented when he signified interest to run for Governor was genuinely earned and was awarded to him.

Regarding allegations of the use of the military by Fayose to intimidate APC supporters during the June 2014 governorship election, the Supreme Court ruled that the Chief of Defence Staff and the Inspector-General of Police, joined as 4th and 5th defendants in the case were not necessary parties.

Lol. Governorship candidate removes Transformer he donated to Community because he lost

Politicians sef! Lol. According to a report by Daily Trust, a transformer donated to the people of Sabo community in Ibadan, Oyo State by PDP governorship candidate in the state, Sen Teslim Folarin, was removed a day after the election on Sunday April 12th by some aides of the former Senate Leader.

He had donated the transformer just weeks prior to the election, but when he came 4th in the election, he probably decided the people were not loyal enough and took back his gift...:-).

Continue... From Dailytrust

An alarm raised by members of the Sabo community on sighting those removing the Transformer in the early hours of Sunday did not move the perpetrators who eventually removed the transformer to an unknown place.

Members of the Sabo community instantly stormed the palace of the Sarkin Hausawa, Alhaji Ahmed Dahiru Zungeru where they expressed their worry, a development which compelled the Sarki to wade into the matter by calling on Folarin's political associate within the community, Alhaji Bashiru Maiborno, for clarification.

Daily Trust gathered that it was at this stage that Baiborno spiritedly made moves to effect the return of the transformer to Sabo community, but he was rebuffed as the Sabo community vowed not to take back the transformer from Senator Folarin.

Efforts by our correspondent to get Senator Folarin's personal reaction on the development was futile as he could not be reached.

Maiborno however insisted that the transformer was removed with a view to keeping it in a safer place. "Senator Folarin is a man of his words," Maiborno told inquisitive journalists.

Photo: God Is Great: After 49 Years, Mother Reunites With The Daughter She Thought Died At Birth (Read More)

A mother & daughter have re-united after a bizarre and unexplained hospital mishap kept them apart for almost 50 years, NYDailyNews reports…

Zella Jackson Price, 76, a gospel in singer in the St. Louis
suburb Olivette, says she was told 49 years ago that her
daughter had died in a hospital hours after being born. But on
Thursday, Price met that very alive daughter, Melanie Diane
Gilmore. A nurse had told Jackson-Price that her baby, who
was three months premature and weighed less than one
pound, died shortly after birth. "She came up to me three
hours later and said your baby passed," Jackson-Price told the
NYDN.

Gilmore was subsequently adopted by another family, and believed that her birth mother gave her up. When she was 20, Gilmore's adoptive mother died, and she moved to Oregon to live with a relative. There, she began searching for her biological mother.

Gilmore's son and twin daughters helped search for their grandmother last year, using Facebook to track Jackson-Price down and a DNA test to confirm the match. Results came back in March, and it was "a 99.9997% match," Gilmore's daughter wrote in the description section of a YouTube video documenting the reunion.

Gilmore, who's been deaf since the age of 3, was given the news by her children via sign language. Then she was introduced to her mother for the first time in a video message "God has given me everything the devil has taken from me," Jackson-Price said "I'm getting it back. I'm getting my baby back."

Jackson-Price expressed plans to investigate whether the hospital mishap was an accident or something more nefarious.

"I'm still kinda in shock. I don't know what we'll find out, what error, what was done, I don't know what we'll find out," she told the Daily News . "As soon as we get over the excitement of being together and everything, I will seek a lawyer."

Homer G. Phillips Hospital closed in 1979, and was converted into senior living apartments in 2003.

The heart wants what it wants? Despite their messy breakup, clearly Selena is still keeping tabs on Justin! The singer took a hot minute to like Justin's latest Instagram video which features his friend and rumored hookup buddy, Hailey Baldwin! Is Selena trying to send Justin a sign?

We're all guilty of stalking our exes on social media — even Selena Gomez , 22!

However, Selena wasn't exactly subtle about the fact that she was going through her ex Justin Bieber's Instagram, after she made a point to like an Instagram video of him hula-hooping with his gal pal Hailey Baldwin , 18! So what exactly does all of this mean, and is Selena still pining over Justin, 21?! Selena Gomez Likes Justin Bieber's Instagram Video — Sending Him A Sign?

Selena may be trying to move on with Zedd , 25, but is her heart still be set on Justin? Why else would she be going through his Instagram page when she doesn't even follow him on social media? Of course, everyone thinks about their ex from time to time, but it sure says a lot that Selena made it known that she was on Justin's page.

There's always that chance that she might have made the humiliating mistake of accidentally liking the video, but it still raises questions, especially because Justin and Hailey were rumored to have been hooking up!

President OBAMA vs The Revelation 13:15-18

Christian its time to buckle up ur belt for this heavenly race.........

666 = The Mark of the beast Sanate has passed the Obama Health Care' bill into Law. The implemrntation would commence soon. This bill would require all Americans to be implanted with a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chip in order to access medical care.

The device will be implanted on the forehead or on the arm. this is to fulfill the prophecy in the book of Revelation 13:15-18 concerning the Mark of the Beast!

The rapture is near!. Revelation 13 is being played out right before us. Many are still unaware.

1. why is the chip being implanted where the Bible says it would be? Why on the hand and forehead? Why not anywhere else?

2. Why is it being connected to your bank account? Remember the Bible says you won't buy or sell without the mark 666, and guest what? the chip is connected to your financial details. What breaks my heart the most is that many people in the church will not make it if Jesus comes now! Many are unaware that the end time is near. Don't tell me that is advancement of technology or development. If any area of your life is not sync with God's word Repent now and be converted. If you miss Hell ... think about it . Jonathan storms Lagos with N 10 bn to rig polls

The All Progressives Congress (APC ) yesterday alleged a grand plan by the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) to force its way through in today 's governorship election in Lagos State .

The PDP plan, according to the APC, includes gun running , use of fake result sheets, outright bribing of voters and deployment of the police to intimidate and harass its top members .

Controversial Assistant Inspector General of Police Joseph Mbu is said to be in charge of the police operation .

Addressing reporters in Lagos, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said President Goodluck Jonathan flew into town on Thursday with " a war chest of 10 billion naira specifically for the Lagos elections. "

Foot soldiers of the PDP are said to be under instruction to " storm polling units in areas where the APC is strong either to disrupt voting by attacking voters or simply carry away voting materials , " while a PDP point man " has been driving around designated pick - up points to drop fake NYSC and military uniforms , guns and cash. "

" In a clandestine and brazen operation in Lagos , this point man and his team have also added the distribution of fake result sheets to PDP agents , " Alhaji Mohammed said .

He said further :" At a popular Maryland vendor stand, which is one of the muster points for the PDP thugs , three big bags containing NYSC polo shirts , as well as fake Police and Army uniforms , were handed over to some PDP thugs by the agents.

" Then at 5: 30 am this morning (yesterday ), at exactly the same location , the vendor stand in Maryland close to Mobil Filing station, two white Hilux trucks pulled up and dropped 60 medium size rectangular cartons.

" On hand were the same men who collected the bags of fake NYSC t - shirts some days back . Their conversation , which took place in the Yoruba language , revealed a lot . The four men asked from the person , delivering the cartons ' owo nko' (where is the money ). The man in the car said both the money and the guns were inside the box . He also explained to the four men that later in the evening of today (yesterday ), the four men should return to the same point to collect fake result sheets from Bajulaiye (the hub of printing in Lagos) that will be wrapped up in newspapers and delivered just like the way newspapers are delivered .

" The men who collected the guns, fake uniforms and result sheets are those designated to storm polling units tomorrow . They will also instigate violence across the state , with a view to scaring away voters, especially in APC strongholds .

" The PDP has turned today' s elections into a do - or - die affair . The plan is to use thugs and militants who have also been imported into the state to intimidate voters, snatch ballot boxes and provide cover for the PDP to announce false results tomorrow. Fake ballot papers as well as result sheets are already being issued to the PDP ."

Alhaji Mohammed said that President Jonathan , soon after his arrival in Lagos on Thursday to " oversee the PDP' s rigging plans, " met with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Musiliu Obanikoro , PDP governorship candidate in the state , Mr. Jimi Agbaje , and the OPC factional leader , Gani Adams , in the presence of AIG Mbu.

He said the meeting perfected plans to rig the election after the PDP chieftains complained that the state Police Commissioner Kayode Aderanti refused to co - operate with them.

The CP was thus sidelined and Mbu given the go - ahead to take charge of the security aspect of the elections by allowing the PDP to announce fake election results .

" Acting on Jonathan 's directive, Mbu stormed the Lagos Police HQ today (yesterday ) and took over the CP 's office , claiming he is now in charge of the election in Lagos.

" Meanwhile, the IG of Police , Suleiman Abba , had posted the DIG in charge of training in Abuja , Mr Argungu , to oversee the election in Lagos. Mbu had been posted to take charge of affairs in Ogun State . The President by his directive has overridden the directives of the IG without his knowledge , " the APC spokesman said .

" The PDP is attempting to use Mbu and the GOC – who is Jonathan ' s relation – to force a false result on the REC .

" It is interesting that despite their failure, in view of the dollar rain that fell on the South - west , to capture the region , they have not relented in wasting public funds to swing the outcome of elections, " he pointed out .

" Nigerians have shown that they cannot be swayed by bribery . If money were to be the determming factor , the PDP would not have lost the presidential elections. Just as they failed on March 28 , they will fail again tomorrow (today) ."

Besides , Alhaji Mohammed said key leaders of the APC have been targeted for arrest, harassment and intimidation as part of measures to destabilize the party today, while PDP point men have been designated to invade the residences of the leaders, starting from last night.

He said : " Having milked its cash cow to death on March 28 , the PDP has decided that it would grab new cash cows. Such cash cows are economically - viable states like Lagos and oil producing states like Rivers .

" The PDP has vowed not to lose any of such states, hence the desperate acts we have enumerated above . They do not care about the votes of the people, and are not interested in counting votes or making them count . All they want is to capture any state that catches their fancy. "

The party urged its members and supporters not to be intimidated , but be " extra vigilant and to document all cases of voter harassment and intimidation as well as election malfeasance."

Local and international observers were told to " pay a very close attention to the conduct of the elections in Lagos and River states ."

Earlier yesterday, Alhai Mohammed in a statement warned that " the people will resist any attempt to rob them of their votes."

He spoke of a PDP rigging machine headed by President Jonathan to rig the Lagos elections, and drew attention to " the airlifting from Abuja to Lagos of a Black Kia Mohave SUV , with the number plate DHQ 340 which was packed with election materials ( especially result sheets) ."

The APC spokesman said that the SUV " will be free to move around (because of its number plate ) despite the restriction on the vehicular movement during the elections.

" It is sad that the same President, who conceded defeat in the presidential election and then followed up with a speech in which he said he would like his ' legacy' of free and fair elections to endure , is the one who is presiding over a desperate move to steal the people' s votes.

" How can President Jonathan ' s ' legacy' endure when one of his last acts in office is a seeming vengeance mission to lead his party to capture Lagos because the PDP sees the state as a cash cow that they can milk to death with the party' s gravy train at the federal level having derailed?" the party queried .

" In their desperation over the Lagos elections, they have shamelessly divided the people along ethnic, religious and regional lines , thus setting the stage for the condemnable hate speeches to which they have in turn latched on to further whip up primordial sentiments ."

The APC advised the President to desist from any vengeance mission that will only rubbish whatever is left of " his so - called legacy of free and fair elections."

It urged all APC members and supporters, and indeed all the good people of Lagos , to be extra vigilant today to " thwart the evil machinations of the fallen behemoth called the PDP."

Ronald wins match suspension appeal

The Spanish league on Friday cancelled a yellow card awarded against Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo for diving, ending a threatened one-match suspension, his club said.

The Portuguese attacker got the card for diving in the
penalty area against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday. TV images later showed that he had been tripped by a defender.

Real confirmed in a statement that the Spanish federation's competitions committee had "cancelled the referee's yellow card".

Ronaldo avoids a one-match suspension for his fifth yellow card meaning he will be available to play in a key match on Saturday against Eibar.

Real are second in the Spanish title race, four points behind leaders Barcelona.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti will already be without James Rodriguez and Toni Kross, who are suspended, and the injured Gareth Bale (muscle problem)."Bale won't be available tomorrow," Ancelotti told a press conference.

"He's suffering from a sprain and it's best to wait until Tuesday (when Real face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League).

"We must put out the best team possible, and so the decision on Cristiano was normal because the punishment wasn't right."

He added: "We are giving Eibar the utmost respect as we can't afford to fail against them."

> GEJ Refuses To Meet Him At Aso Rock For Mismanaging N21 Billion Campaign
> Fund & For Calling Him 'That Stupid President"
> Fayose Caught On Tape Calling Jonathan Stupid For Refusing To Use Soldiers To Rig Election

This report you are about to read is from a credible source in Ayodele Fayose's administration.
Insiders alleged that the governor is deeply troubled with the recent development in his state.
The first trouble he is dealing with is the impeachment move being put together by 19 APC lawmakers.

Secondly, the man has bite the finger that fed him.
He has offended President Goodluck Jonathan greatly and the man has decided to leave him to his fate.

Sources inside the Presidency alleged that Fayose's trouble with President Jonathan started during his re-election campaign. It was alleged that Jonathan entrusted his N21 billion campaign fund into Fayose's hand which he allegedly mismanaged.

Why President Jonathan Turns Down Request To See Fayose On His Visit To Aso Rock

PDP sources said the President is angry with Fayose over mismanagement of campaign cash and image problem the governor caused him by his relentless attacks on the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, which soared
support for the retired General while diminishing the profile of the President.

Security sources said Fayose compounded problem for himself while condemning President Jonathan for not using soldiers for the election.

"Security officers were holding a meeting with the governor and he was told to ensure adequate security to douse tension. Carelessly, the governor said he was not sure whether "that stupid President will agree like he refused to do during the presidential election".

"Unfortunately, Fayose did not know that he was being recorded. The tape was sent to the President who after listening to it decided to leave Fayose to his fate.

Yesterday, Governor Ayodele Fayose was said to have sensed the danger coming for being rude to his political god-father, the man who brought him back into Ekiti State House from exile.
He reportedly moved almost all his property from the Ekiti State House. 4 Hilux vans were seen moving his personal belongings from the Governor's lodge to his Spotless Hotel.

Each Hilux van made 4 trips between the State House and the Spotless Hotel on Thursday..

2 Weeks before now, Fayose was said to have moved some beds to his Afao and Ibadan homes.

Another source said Fayose's behaviour betrayed his intention in recent times, citing his last week secret journey out of Ekiti State and today's recorded broadcast to Ekiti people.

"He likes loud life, but his behaviour recently suggests he is greatly troubled. He sneaked out of Ekiti State last week and quietly entered. Today, he presented a recorded broadcast to the people as a live broadcast.

Something is wrong with oga. The way he is moving his property out of the Government House confirms he is up to a game that is known only to himself," the source said.

Another source in Abuja said Fayose has been running from pillar to post in order to seek President Jonathan's forgiveness, citing that the opposition party leaders are the ones using black power to force him to disrespect Jonathan.

This is serious. Why is Fayose making so many mistakes???

Staff escape death as 40-ft container crushes four Vanguard vehicles

Eight Vanguard staff narrowly escaped death yesterday, after a 40-foot container fell off a truck and landed on five vehicles, four of which were Vanguard's, at Berger Yard Bus Stop, along Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos.

Time was 4am.

The vehicles, two Toyota Hilux pick-up vans with number plates AKD 509 AH and AKD 507 AH; a bus, AGL 51 BJ, and a black Hyundai Verna, JJJ 513 CM, were for circulation of Vanguard newspapers.

The fourth vehicle belongs to a staff of Julius Berger Construction Company.

The vehicles were parked by the entrance to Julius Berger's Euro 65 facility premises because of the perennial traffic gridlock along the expressway, which usually affected the circulation of the national daily.

Vanguard's circulation staff usually cross the expressway with piles of the newspaper on their heads, to load the vehicles, for onward distribution in Lagos and the South-West.

However, yesterday, the circulation staff were said to have finished loading vehicles leaving for the South-West states.

They were on the verge of loading those heading for Ikorodu, Badagry, Kakawa and Ajah areas of Lagos, when a speeding truck, with number plate LND 258 XL, veered off its lane. Its container fell on the parked vehicles.

The truck driver, his escort and the Motor Boy were flung in different directions.

Motorists trapped in traffic also abandoned their vehicles and ran for safety, apparently thinking it was a bomb explosion.

The truck driver and his motor boy were said to have been rushed to New Nigeria Hospital on Dillion Street, Kirikiri, from where they were referred to Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Idi-Araba.

'Driver was smoking Igbo' The escort and a clearing and forwarding agent were arrested by policemen from Trinity Street.

At the station, the escort revealed that the driver was smoking Indian hemp, when the accident happened.

He said: "We left Tin-Can Island Port at 2am and the driver took out a wrap of hemp.

"As we were approaching Berger Yard Bus Stop, he asked the motor boy to wrap a second one for him.

"He had barely puffed four times when the accident occurred. I do not smoke and I did not feel comfortable with the whiff of the Marijuana. But there was nothing I could do."

‘My estranged wife conspired with her husband to rob me’

Lagos—A real estate developer, Mr. Abraham Okoro, Wednesday, told a Lagos Magistrate's court in Ikeja how he identified one of the suspected robbers, who attacked him some years ago after he had sold a property, at Surulere Magistrate's Court on March 27, 2013.

Okoro, who was testifying before Magistrate Abimbola Komolafe, said the suspect, Babatunde Ogunmefun, was married to his estranged wife, Adedoyin Ogunmefun (nee Ajaba).

He said his estranged wife and the suspect had written a petition against him over paternity of his two children.

He said it was when he got to the court at Surulere, that he identified Adedoyin's new husband as one of the robbers that came to his house.

Okoro further stated that after he recognised Ogunmefun in court, he wrote a petition to Lagos State Police Commissioner on March 29, 2013 to investigate the matter, adding that he had earlier reported the robbery incident to the police when it happened.

According to him, Ogunmefun was arrested on May 3, 2013 for questioning and that while the case was ongoing, one Ashiru, who undertook his bail, happened to be one of the property agent that his (estranged) wife introduced to him to help sell a property.

He said after he identified the agent (Ashiru), he denied, saying it was his brother who looks like him.

Okoro, who said he discove-red that Ashiru was brother in-law to Ogunmefun, concluded that given the scenario, his estranged wife had conspired with them to dupe him.

At the last sitting, Okoro had told the court that his estranged wife brought another man's pregnancy to his house, pleading with him to accept it. Magistrate Komolafe adjourned the matter till June 24 for cross examination.

Ajimobi appoints 9ice as Special Adviser

Top musician Abolore Akande, popularly known as 9ice, has been appointed as the Special Adviser to the governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, who is seeking a re-election on Saturday.

The Gongo Aso crooner joined All Progressives Congress, APC and contested for the ticket of the party for the Ogbomosho Federal Constituency but was defeated at the primary.

His appointment was announced on Twitter, although, his primary assignment to the governor is unknown as at now.

(UPDATED) APC legislators direct CJ to raise Fayose’s impeachment panel

The 19 All Progressives Congress lawmakers of the Ekiti State House of Assembly have written the State Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, to set up a panel to investigate allegations raised in the impeachment notice against Governor Ayodele Fayose.

The seven-man panel to be constituted by the Chief Judge within seven days of receipt of the letter is to investigate Fayose and his Deputy, Dr. Oluosla Kolapo, over allegations of impunity, violence, stalking and other constitutional breaches.

The lawmakers reached the resolution at a special sitting presided over by the embattled Speaker, Dr. Adewale Omirin, at Mary Hills Boys High School, Ado Ekiti, on Thursday.

The lawmakers relied on Section 101 of the 1999 Constitution as amended which empowers the Assembly to regulate its sittings, including sitting in a public building within the state capital if the lives of members are not safe.

But the Chief Registrar of the Ekiti State High Court, Mr. Obafemi Fasanmi, said he was not aware of the letter directing the CJ to raise a panel to probe the governor and his deputy.

Journalists that visited the school were also told by students that they saw no strange faces in their school.

According to a statement by Omirin's media aide, Mr. Wole Olujobi, the lawmakers in a unanimous vote supported the motion directing the chief judge to set up the panel.

Majority Leader, Churchill Adedipe, Irepodun/Ifelodun Constituency one, explained that the sitting ought to have taken place in the hallowed chamber on April 7, 2015 but members were waylaid by thugs who mounted roadblock and threatened their lives with dangerous weapons.
Due to the violence, he said, the lawmakers had to jettison the plan to go to the Assembly.

"Relying on Section 188 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended), Adedipe moved the motion empowering the CJ to set up the panel.

"His motion was seconded by the Deputy Speaker, Adetunji Orisalade, representing Ido/Osi Constituency two.

"The House adjourned to the next legislative day," the statement said. However, Fayose has argued that no sitting of Ekiti Assembly took place on Thursday as claimed by the APC lawmakers.

The governor in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said, "The State House of Assembly is on recess.

No sitting of the House is taking place in the House of Assembly.
"Kindly disregard information being circulated by the APC that their lawmakers are sitting somewhere in Ado Ekiti.

"Of course, members of the House of Assembly can gather anywhere in the world to have social or political meetings.

"Parliamentary business is done in the hallowed chamber of the House of Assembly.

"Besides, Dr Adewale Omirin, who claimed to be the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly was impeached on November 20, 2014 and he is in court, challenging his impeachment."

Meanwhile, the Ekiti Justice Forum has urged Fayose to respond to the impeachment notice served on him by the lawmakers with maturity and all sense of responsibility instead of resorting to violence.

(UPDATED) One dies in Ekiti anti-impeachment protest

At least one person has been reportedly killed in Efon Alaaye, Ekiti State, as the move to impeach the State Governor, Ayo Fayose, by the state House of Assembly gathers momentum on Tuesday.

The victim of the protest to stop the lawmakers from sitting to continue with the impeachment move, Modupe Olaiya, was said to have been killed in a yet-to-be- ascertained circumstances while the 19 All Progressives Congress members of the House attempted to enter the state capital, Ado Ekiti, through the Efon Alaaye area.

UPDATED at 11am:

A huge protest is currently ongoing in Ado Ekiti, capital of Ekiti State, against the move of Ekiti State House of Assembly to impeach the state Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, over alleged constitutional breaches.

Heavy security has been put in place in strategic locations in Ado Ekiti, while entry routes have been blocked and taken over by security operatives. Details later. . .
——————————————————————————–
Members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State on Monday blocked the two major roads leading to the state House of Assembly following rumours that 19 All Progressives Congress lawmakers were planning to hold a sitting to impeach Governor Ayodele Fayose.

The party loyalists were led by the Deputy Governor, Kolapo Olusola; a former Speaker, Tunji Odeyemi; the Special Assistant to the governor on Information, Lanre Ogunsuyi, and Fayose's Public Communications and New Media aide, Lere Olayinka.

Although nine Toyota Hilux vans carrying men and officers of the Police and the Department of State Services manned the main entrances to the Assembly, the PDP members erected canopies about 200 metres away from the Assemby's premises.

Some of them sat quietly under the canopies erected by the Secretariat Road while others danced to music supplied in front of the old complex.

A bus was used by the PDP members to prevent movement into the Assembly premises from the same road.

On Iyin Road, many of the party supporters also ensured that no one was allowed into the complex.

The APC lawmakers, who had since November 17 stayed away from the House proceedings, had served Fayose with an impeachment notice. They cited impunity, brigandage, stalking and other constitutional breaches by Fayose as reasons for the impeachment notice.

But Ogunsuyi told journalists on Monday that the APC lawmakers led by the Speaker, . Adewale Omirin, erred in law by sending a notice of impeachment to Fayose.

He added that Omirin could not claim to be the Speaker while still challenging his own impeachment in the court.

The governor's information aide said, "The new Nigeria which President Goodluck jonathan and Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) all campaigned for is the one that would respect the rule of law. With this convergence, you can see that the people are standing by their governor. They are ready to defend their mandate.

"Nobody asked Omirin and other APC lawmakers not to come to the Assembly; they only decided to abdicate their duties since November 17, 2014.

Impeachment procedure does not start and end with the Assembly alone. The Judiciary is involved; so their action or plan is highly condemnable.

"We want to emphasise that they are welcome as long as they are concerned about making laws for the progress of the state; but if it is meant to come and impeach Governor Fayose, we won't allow that."

Ogunsuyi, however said the governor, as the leader of the state, would continue to extend the olive branch to the lawmakers.

He said, "We don't want any unwholesome issue because the task of developing Ekiti is an onerous task that needs to be pursued with vigour.

The governor doesn't want any distraction and that is why he has been pursuing peace at all times.

"We want some measure of decorum in Ekiti. We are not proud of the era whereby we had three governors within a week. We want a stable government and that we will continue to pursue for Ekiti to be at peace."

Odeyemi advised the APC lawmakers to sheathe their swords and allow peace to reign by putting the interest of the state above theirs.

He said,"The entire issue calls for concerns. As a former legislator, I am quite aware of the rudiment of impeachment process, but far from this, the issue of the news any impeachment will bring to Ekiti's credibility is uppermost in my mind.

"How would they perceive Ekiti as a people nationwide? So, I am calling on my colleagues to have a rethink because we are duty bound to contribute to the development of this state. I plead with them to embrace reconciliation and forget about heating up the polity unnecessarily."

Olayinka said he received a call from an unknown person on Monday who claimed to be an official of the DSS .

Olayinka added that the caller whom he described as an impersonator, said his office received a report that he was inciting people of the state to violence with the state-owned radio.

He said, "I received a call today (Monday) from a number, 08141602777, claiming that it was from the DSS headquarters in Abuja. I was told that a report was made in the DSS office that I was inciting Ekiti people to violence with the Ekiti Radio."

According to him, the general manager of the Progress FM, Ado Ekiti, also received a similar message from same number.

The aide stated that he later contacted the DSS office in Ado Ekiti to verify the claim and identify the caller but was told to disregard the call.

However, the APC lawmakers, in a statement said Fayose was compounding his problems by inciting people, who they called thugs, against the Assembly.

They advised him to note that violence would not solve the burden of constitutional breaches that he had placed on himself.

The lawmakers, in the statement by Omirin's Special Adviser on Media, Wole Olujobi, wondered why a governor that had questions to answer would get involved in other unlawful conduct such as the invasion of the Assembly by thugs.

The statement read in part, "It is shocking that the governor would start any act of illegality bordering on public disorder when he is having a load of illegal acts on his head upon which he is facing removal from office.

"Ekiti people were shocked when news spread that the governor had asked his thugs to invade the Assembly and occupy the place to prevent the lawmakers from performing their legal duties.

"These PDP members were holding their meeting in their secretariat when instruction reached them that they must relocate to the Assembly premises where thugs were beating passersby and molesting motorists and residents. All these illegal acts cannot save the governor.

"This is the way a court in the state was invaded by thugs who beat up the judges. They tore court records in the Chief Judge's office and beat up his secretary.

"Now is the turn of the House of Assembly. What the governor is doing is a confirmation that he does not believe and cannot tolerate democratic practice.

But democracy is what Ekiti people want and so we expect people of conscience and good will to support the efforts to allow Ekiti people enjoy democratic governance."

The lawmakers advised the governor to defend the allegations against him in the impeachment notice instead of resorting to self-help that offered nothing but unnecessary venting of anger on the peaceful people of Ekiti State.

They also confirmed in the statement that the security details of the Speaker had been restored by the Police and the DSS.

Jonathan didn't ask me to resign –Fayose Meanwhile, Fayose has debunked a rumour that he had been advised by President Goodluck Jonathan to resign.

He also denied receiving impeachment notice from the 19 APC lawmakers who accused him of committing eight impeachable offences.

Fayose stated these on Monday during a media chat, Meet Your Governor, monitored in Ado Ekiti.

He boasted that nobody could remove him from office because he was holding a mandate given to him by the people of the state. He added that before anybody could remove him, such individual would have to remove God first and the people of Ekiti State.

Responding to questions from viewers on the blockage of roads leading to the Assembly complex , the governor said all the attacks on him were because of his support for President Goodluck Jonathan .

He said, "I don't know of any invasion; I don't know of any threat to the House of Assembly and I am not aware of any impeachment process. I am aware the House is on recess and Omirin is in court challenging his impeachment in Lagos and Abuja."

"They claimed to have served me on Easter Day, can you imagine that? Who did they serve and who received it (the impeachment notice)?

"The enemies of Ekiti people are at work again. I left in 2006, eight years ago and God in his infinite mercy brought me back the same day and the same month that I was removed.

"They are waging war against my people, those who voted me in; nobody has served (impeachment notice). I read it on the Internet the same way you read it on the Internet."

Fayose said he had no regret supporting and campaigning for Jonathan.

"Because Buhari won an election, they are waging war against me. When I won election, that was the same thing they did. They are not doing it for the love of Ekiti people but for their personal interest.

"Omirin wanted to become Acting Governor but the Bible says who art thou oh mountain before Zerubbabel, thou shall be removed. They employed every trick to frustrate my inauguration but they failed. I know hey will fail again.

"If you will remove me, you will have to remove God first who put me there. You can't unseat God; nobody can unseat me. No matter their number, they can't remove me.''
